About

Japanese-French lAboratory for Semiconductor physics and Technology (J-FAST) is International Research Laboratories (IRL) established at University of Tsukuba (UT) by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). The aim of J-FAST is to develop and expand the collaboration between Grenoble and Tsukuba and to promote joint research in a wide range of materials science fields with a focus on semiconductors.

About the Project

OVERVIEW

Japanese-French lAboratory for Semiconductor physics and Technology (J-FAST) is International Research Laboratories (IRL) established at University of Tsukuba (UT) by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in the year of 2022, as a joint research project between Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), University of Tsukuba (UT), and Air Liquide company (AL).

J-FAST aims to develop and expand the collaboration between Grenoble and Tsukuba, covering a wide range of fields of materials science. We focus on atomic-scale process of semiconductors as core area, but also including materials and characterization of wide-gap semiconductors and device applications in related fields, as well as solar-cell materials, magnetic materials, quantum technology, chemistry and biomaterials in peripheral fields.

Through promoting joint research, we aim to widely solve global environmental and energy problems and to contribute to the revitalization of research by fostering young human resources.
